Long time, no see...

It's been a while since I last posted, and it has been a pretty busy few weeks.  I had a birthday weekend away, started a new job, discovered a great surfing beach just a few minutes from my work, had a vacation in Fiji, a wedding in Canberra, and made preparations for some landscaping work to be started at our house- yes, it's been a busy time.

There have been a few things to take photos of, but too many to fit in a single post, so today, I'll concentrate on the surfers at the beach near where I work.  It's a place called Sandon Point at Bulli, about an hour south of Sydney.  The rocky point sticks out and the surfers can come quite close while still surfing past and back towards the beach area.  Even with my 55-200mm zoom, I can get reasonably close to the action and get some nice shots.  I've been there three times since starting the new job, and here are a few of my favourite shots so far...

These were all taken from the rocks on the point at full stretch of 200mm, and then had to be cropped to get just the item of interest, so at full size, these aren't as clean as I'd like and all have had to have a little re-sharpening work.

Also around the beach area, I've found lots of flowers called Gazanias - I may make them the subject of my next post.  Till then, happy snappin.

  1. Ooh, the colors in that first shot are beautiful, and you captured the perfect moment in the last shot. Nice work, Grum.
